Located on three acres bordering Forest Service land, high above the valley and immediately beneath Castle Rock, this newly constructed B&B is less than a mile from two landmark red rock monuments; Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte. In a quiet residential neighborhood rich in wildlife, it is convenient to galleries, golf courses, spas, restaurants, the discount mall, and major hiking and biking trails. The combination of pure white walls, linens and coverlets with dark woods is characteristic of Spanish interiors, and accessories present an interesting mix of Mexican and Native American crafts and images. Guests will find fresh fruit, bedtime treats, and a fridge full of drinks. Ask about romance packages.
Location: Near Highway 179 and Bell Rock Blvd.
Amenities: Five guest rooms each have queen bed, plush robes, hair dryer, TV/DVD, CD player, and phone with computer capability and answering machine (free US long distance calls up to one hour).
The Yavapai ($215) on the first floor has a double whirlpool tub and separate shower, plus a private porch and small patio looking directly out at Bell Rock and Red Butte.
The delightfully bright and airy Coconino ($215) on the second floor has a double shower and beautiful views from inside the room and from the private balcony.
The Mariposa ($215) on the second floor faces east with a private balcony overlooking red rock formations and green mesas. It has a chair-and-a-half which opens into a twin bed, permitting the rooms to sleep three ($195), and a double shower.
With a wall of windows, The Javelina ($215) on the second floor has a large private balcony with commanding views and a double shower. It is off a separate hall with the Kokopelli so that rented together they form a private suite ($385, no deduction for singles, extra person $25).
The Kokopelli ($240) has a large private balcony with the same sweeping views, and a double whirlpool tub plus a separate shower. It also has it's own small sitting room with a desk, should you need to work. It can be rented together with the Javelina to form a suite.
Rates: D/$215-385. Singles deduct $25. Third person add $25. Plus tax.
Breakfast: Full with one or more hot entrees served from 8-9 a.m. Vegetarian and low-fat meals available on request. Coffee and breads available for early risers.

Pets in home: None
Restrictions: Children welcome. No pets, no smoking on the premises.
Deposits: Fifty percent of total charges required at time reservation is made. The remaining charges are processed upon departure.
Cancellations: Ten days prior notice required for a refund, less $25 handling fee. For cancellations with 9 days or less notification, the total room charge will be withheld if the room is not re-rented. The full amount of any cancellation charge may be applied toward any future visit to The Penrose.
