"Hafod-y-Gwynt" means shelter from the wind in Welsh. This is the place
to experience quiet desert living. On ten acres where you can see mountains in every
direction, in the midst of the lush Sonoran desert, the 600 square foot guest apartment
with private entrance is connected to the main house and is in a scenic area 1 hour from
downtown Phoenix or the airport, 1/2 hour from Scottsdale Road and Shea Blvd., 15 minutes
from good dining.
Location: Northeast of Scottsdale
Amenities: AC. Comfortable 20 x 20 combined living room and bedroom with twin beds,
TV, traditional decor, bathroom has shower. Fully equipped kitchen stocked for first few
days' breakfasts.
Host couple interests: Trail riding, theater, genealogy, riding with hounds.
Rates: $65.
Breakfast: self-serve, continental plus
Pets on property: horses, one cat.
Minimum stay: 2 nights
Restrictions: No smoking, no pets, no children
Handicapped: Possible
Closed: May 15-Oct. 20
Deposit and Cancellation Policies: Pre-payment in full for one night's stay, or of 50% of the total for stays of 2 nights or more required at time of reservation. The balance is due to the host in cash or travelers checks upon arrival. At the time the reservation is confirmed, we charge a service fee of $10 for bookings.
Mi Casa Su Casa accepts personal and business checks, and major credit cards. Reservations may be held with a credit card number, pending receipt of a check, if this method of deposit is preferred.
For a refund of deposit, cancellation notice must be received 14 or more days prior to arrival date. All cancellations are subject to a $25 service charge. For stays during high season, holidays or special events, or for stays of a week or more, cancellation must be received 30 days prior to arrival date.
