The gracious living of the Old Southwest is captured and treasured at this 1860's
hacienda, one of the last great Spanish Haciendas still standing in America. Serving as a
guest ranch since the 1920's, it became a secluded gathering place for many well-known
figures such as President L.B. Johnson, Adlai Stevenson, and Margaret Mitchell, author of
Gone With The Wind. Located in the high Sonoran Desert along the Mexican border, it
borders the Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge, where you can watch deer and antelope
still roaming in herds. Within an hour drive of Historic Tubac, Mission of San Xavier Del
Bac, Kitt Peak Observatory, and the "not to be missed" Saguaro National Forest.
Location: Sixty-six miles southwest of Tucson, located on the Mexican border
Amenities: 16 unique guest rooms recently refurbished with Mexican antiques offer a
gentle reminder of the fascinating history of this Magnificent old Spanish land grant.
Each has fireplace, private entrance, private bath, and daily maid service. Deluxe rooms
have courtyard gardens. Pool and hot tub. More than 100,000 acres of land provide trails
over various kinds of terrain for the large string of guest horses suited to all riding
abilities. Excellent hiking trails - over 200 species of birds. Croquet, horseshoes, and
mountain bikes available. Superb southwestern style cooking, which might include mesquite
grilled salmon, a Mexican fiesta with chicken mole & margarita pie, or a desert
cookout featuring Steak Diablo & fresh grilled vegetables. All salad dressings and
desserts are homemade. Retire to the Cantina, stocked with an extensive list of fine
wines, tequilas, and Mexican beers, for dancing, mingling, movies and music.
Rates: 6/1-9/1 - single $150, double $250, additional person in room $100.
9/16-5/31 - single $190, double $310, 3rd person $105. Deluxe rooms (same all year) single
$200, double $375, additional person $115. Weekly rates available. 10-15% gratuity is
recommended, however tipping is discretionary. Additional charges: sales tax, alcohol,
espresso, cappuccino, soda and any beverages not served as part of a meal.
Meals: All meals are included. Notify hosts the night before if you would like them
to pack a lunch for the next day. Vegetarian and special diets accommodated.

Minimum stay: Varies by season and holiday.

Check-out: 11 AM
Deposits: A $400 per room deposit is required to hold your reservation. Deposit is
applied to first or last day of confirmed reservations. Balance due upon arrival.
Cancellation Policy: If you cancel at any time, there is be a 10% cancellation
handling charge. If the cancellation is made at least 90 days in advance of the
reservation date, a 90% refund will be issued. If the cancellation is within 90 days of
the reservation, the entire deposit will be forfeited. Late arrivals, early departures,
deposit forfeited.
Restrictions: No smoking in guest rooms, no pets, well behaved
children welcome. Guests weighing over 240 pounds will not be permitted to lope or gallop
the horses.
