The East Cherry Inn is a unique five level hillside home near the heart of Flagstaff's Historic Downtown area, and a day trip to Grand Canyon and Sedona. Since 1992, the host couple has been welcoming guests to their home which is built on the edge of a ridge overlooking downtown Flagstaff, just 3-5 blocks from shops, restaurants, the train station, nature trails and bus transportation. They consider each guest as extra special since they offer only one accommodation--the Southwestern Suite.

The 1200 square-foot, two level "Southwestern Suite" offers a home-away-from-home atmosphere (private entrance, private bedroom, bath, living room, kitchenette) where only non-toxic, natural products are used.

To achieve their goal to be more energy efficient and more conscious of their environmental impact--- they:

1. Recycle

2. Manufacture electricity with solar panels

3. Have a natural landscape--which means very little watering is needed. There are a variety of natural grasses; Aspen, wild Oak, Ponderosa pine and Blue Spruce trees and other plants that love the 7000 ft. elevation, dry, Arizona climate.

4. Have low-E double pane windows

5. Scent free or natural, lightly scented soaps/toiletries

6. Non-toxic, eco-friendly cleaning products

7. Low voc paints and stains

8. Smoke free

Location: Four blocks East of San Francisco on Cherry Ave.

Amenities: The "Southwestern Suite" is on two levels offering a private bedroom and separate living room/kitchenette area. The bedroom has a California King-size bed with down bedding or down alternative, alarm clock and a private entrance. The cozy bathroom has an extra large shower and blow dryer. The kitchenette has a 2 burner stovetop, regular size refrigerator/freezer, toaster, microwave, coffeepot, tea pot and is set up for light cooking needs & an iron & ironing board

The living room has WIFI, cable TV, DVD/VCR, CD/radio, movies, board games, deck of cards, telephone, piano, over-stuffed, comfortable sofa and arm chairs; and French doors leading to the patio. The wood burning stove is used only in the coldest months of the year.
