This comfortable small apartment in the Chiricahua Mountains is separate from the main house offers the perfect setting for guests wanting a quiet place to paint, write, relax and hike. It has been host to hunters, guests who enjoy riding horses in the mountains and
small writers groups.
Location: 45 miles from Douglas and 25 miles from the town of Rodeo, NM.
Amenities: The burnt-adobe apartment has private entry through a sliding glass door to the living room/bedroom area, which features a double bed and a sofa which can be converted into a double bed. There is a fully equipped kitchen and bath with shower.
Guests are welcome to relax in the main house loft with TV. The loft has a good library of books on the West, cowboy culture and general reading, as well as tapes for guests to enjoy. Phone, TV or queen-size bed in the apartment may be arranged for long-term stays. If necessary, it is possible to accommodate an additional guest in the main house (inquire about rates). Guest horses can be boarded or guests can lease a horse from the hosts. See below for more information.
Host interests: Hosts are retired ranchers and guest-ranch operators who enjoy sharing the history of the Chiricahua Mountains with guests.
Rates: $125 for 2 nights, $250/week, $550/month
Breakfast: Not included, but can be arranged in advance (inquire about rates). There is major shopping available in Douglas 45 miles from the ranch, and a small grocery store with café in Rodeo, NM 25 miles from the ranch.
Maximum number of guests: 3 in apartment
Minimum stay: 2 nights
Restrictions: Smoking outside only, children 12+ welcome.
Guest Pets: There is a small dog yard with doghouse available for well-attended guest dogs at no additional fee. There is corral space available for vet-checked guest horses with current shots - inquire about fees.
Deposit and Cancellation Policies: Pre-payment in full for one night's stay, or of 50% of the total for stays of 2 nights or more required at time of reservation. The balance is due to the host in cash or travelers checks upon arrival. At the time the reservation is confirmed, we charge a service fee of $10 for bookings.
Mi Casa Su Casa accepts personal and business checks, and major
credit cards. Reservations may be held with a credit card number, pending receipt of a check, if this method of deposit is preferred.
For a refund of deposit, cancellation notice must be received 14 or more days prior to arrival date. All cancellations are subject to a $25 service charge. For stays during high season, holidays or special events, or for stays of a week or more, cancellation must be received 30 days prior to arrival date.
Check-in: 4-6 p.m. unless special arrangements are made with host
Check-out: 11 a.m.
Meeting facilities: Dining room table or large loft available in the main house for small business or family gatherings. Slightly larger groups can be accommodated out of doors. Inquire about catered food such as BBQ.
