On the National Register of Historic Homes, this mission-style "country gentleman's home" was built in 1901 by the grandfather of the hostess, who had rich gold mines in the area. Abandoned after a 1983 flood, and vandalized during the six years it sat vacant, it was reclaimed by the hostess in 1989 after a 50-year absence. She has lovingly restored the Victorian interior to its original charm. The birthplace of the Apache warrior Geronimo, the area is rich in colorful history and outdoor recreation such as fishing the rivers and stocked streams, rock hounding, hunting, golf, touring the copper mine, or just plain relaxing. Close to the tranquil San Francisco River, the B&B offers a quiet retreat.
