This
B&B was built in 1995 at 3,860 feet overlooking the San Pedro
River Valley. It is adjacent to the Vega-Bray Observatory, a privately
owned amateur astronomical observatory that also houses a small
science museum, a classroom, a planetarium and a media room. Perfect
for those interested in the many historical and natural attractions
such as Kartchner Caverns and Tombstone. For amateur astronomers, or
those simply curious about astronomy, the facilities are ideal. The
facilities are very modern and house a variety of telescopes,
including six major telescopes, ranging from six to 20 inches in
diameter. Some are computerized and are able to slew to a galaxy or
nebula on command. The classroom has collections of meteorites,
fossils, optics and other scientific materials. A small planetarium
and video projector are used for acquainting persons of all ages with
astronomy and our skies. Also available is a large library and video
film collection. Assistance in the use of the Observatory is available
for a fee, provided by amateur astronomers. Good weather for night
observing cannot be guaranteed, but southern Arizona has one of the
highest percentages of clear nights in the USA and the world.
Also

Pedro River and a large pond which attract many different species of
waterfowl and birdwatchers.
